Through our multi-faceted art program, SCDS students connect with their own culture and others', developing an appreciation for beauty and human dignity. Students' creativity is nourished with support, encouragement and respect, so that they feel comfortable expressing themselves on stage and in the art studios.

With two fully-stocked art studios and an arts courtyard, the Visual Arts program gives students the opportunity to explore a wide range of media and techniques, including drawing, painting, sculpture and ceramics. The Performing Arts program uses the professional stage and equipment in the Jackson Theater, a magnificent 774-seat theater. Music students benefit from a studio with four acoustically enhanced practice rooms, an array of instruments, and choral risers.
