This 770-seat theater is unmatched in the North Bay for music, theater, speakers and special events. According to Santa Rosa Symphony Music Director Jeffrey Kahane, the Jackson Theater has "the finest acoustics for chamber music north of San Francisco."

Among the theater's capabilities are lighting, sound and stage gear, 1200 square feet of performance space, and a 16'x16' screen and 3000 lumen data projector. There are 566 seats downstairs and 204 in the balcony. The theater does not currently have a box office, but SCDS will assist with publicity and ticket sales through Web links. Programs in the Jackson Theater have included the California Supreme Court, Healdsburg Jazz Festival, author Frank McCourt, the San Francisco Scottish Fiddlers, Actors Theater's production of Angels in America, the Santa Rosa High School Chorus, and the Commonwealth Club of California.
