Philip C. Nix, founding headmaster of Sonoma Country Day School, has shaped the curriculum, principles and practices of the school, and built an organization with a national reputation for quality. The school has won numerous awards and recognition for its programs and publications. Philip Nix has been selected for two national award programs, the Klingenstein Fellowship at Columbia University and the Christian A. Johnson Leadership Program. He has served on the President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities chaired by First Lady Laura Welch Bush and on the arts education panel of the National Endowment for the Arts.
