Members of the SCDS Board of Trustees are professionals and community leaders who are parents and grandparents of current and former SCDS students. The Board hires the headmaster, oversees the financial health of the school, shapes policies, and makes long-term plans to fulfill the school's mission.

The committees and ad hoc committees of the Board are Advancement, Buildings and Grounds,  Education, Executive, Finance, Marketing, Point of View, Succession, Strategic Planning, and Trustees.
