At Sonoma Country Day School we make a promise to our families that we will truly know their children and that they will receive individual attention, recognition, and support for their specific strengths and challenges. The admission office embodies this ideal through a personalized approach to your introduction to our community. Please call or email the admission office to set up an admission experience designed to suit your needs and preferences: 707.284.3268 / email@example.com
Experience Sonoma Country Day School
The best way to get to know us is to come for a visit! Tour our incredible facilities, see our programs in action, and interact with students, teachers, administrators, and parents. Individual tours are offered year-round, and formal admission open houses are scheduled throughout the fall and winter.
Join us in the Jackson Theater from 8:30-9:00am on Monday mornings for our weekly all-school Assembly. Co-hosted by Head of School Dr. Weaver and a different member of the eighth grade class, each Assembly features student performances and presentations, as well as a variety of guest speakers (examples include SCDS alumni, NASA Astronaut Scott Kelly, the Sonoma County K-9 Sheriff's unit and 2014 Olympic Gold Medalist Ted Ligety). Please inquire with the admission office about attending: 707-284-3268.
Complete the Admission Application
Once you have visited our campus and become familiar with the SCDS programs and community, the next step is to submit the online admission application. The application fee is $200.
Need-based tuition assistance awards are made concurrently with admission decisions. To learn more about applying for tuition assistance, click here
. Submit a Recommendation Form
We ask that your child's teacher submit a completed recommendation form directly to the Admission Office via mail, fax, or email. Recommendation forms can be downloaded or picked up in person during your visit to campus. Submit Academic Report Cards and Test Results
Please submit report cards and testing results from the previous two years. Schedule a Visit Day
Students applying to grades TK-8 are given the opportunity to spend a day at SCDS in the class they are applying to join. TK applicants spend a half day in our TK classroom. This gives applicants a chance to experience a taste of what SCDS has to offer, and helps students and families decide if SCDS is the right school for them. Once your admission application and recommendation form has been received, the Admission Office will contact you to schedule a Visit Day. Take Academic Assessment
All applicants are asked to take an academic assessment written in-house by SCDS faculty. This is not a standardized exam but rather an exploration of what skills applicants have been introduced to and what they may need to work on to ensure a smooth academic transition to our school.
