Country Day Parents (CDP) Hoorah!

We are so grateful for all of the remarkable volunteer support we receive throughout the school year. As you know, all parents are members of Country Day Parents, and we celebrate those that have stepped forward in leadership roles within our group. The Country Day Parent board, or CDP, has an amazing range of activity: if those volunteers are not helping our teachers, planning our fundraisers and our school events, working in the garden, hanging and taking down artwork, bringing treats for the winter concert and for weekly assembly, creating displays for our auctions and our school news, or sorting clothing in the lost and found, they can be found shelving books in the library, running the sports center snack shop, staffing stations at our bubble and states of matter festivals, creating the weekly Next 10,000 Minutes newsletter, posting our driveway and greeter’s kiosks, managing our CDP budget, coordinating room parent classroom support, and serving in a variety of other tasks. Whew! SCDS is truly fortunate to be able to count upon such a resourceful and generous group of volunteers.

Furthermore, as any of our volunteers will tell you, joining in and helping is one of the easiest and liveliest ways to get involved with life at SCDS. We welcome all to participate in the array of volunteer opportunities that enable parents to easily match their time and talents to SCDS needs. Please come to our monthly CDP general meetings, or when you find extra time on your hands please contact any board member and get plugged in!

With the school year drawing to a close, we acknowledge our 2013-14 CDP Board and thank them for their service. In addition, we welcome our incoming members of the 2014-15 CDP Board and greatly appreciate their willingness to serve. This year, in addition to the Director positions, CDP has also added new (and much needed) Assistant Director positions.

To find out how to you can help, please be in touch at cdp@scds.org. In particular, we are in need of a tech savvy individual who would like to help manage and support our CDP website. We also need a parent volunteer who would be willing to take on our student’s pumpkin carving contest at Halloween.
