Happy Holidays

Dear SCDS Families and Friends,

We are a community founded upon the belief that using our learning in service to others not only benefits their lives, but our lives as well. I am touched that we have been living that ideal in earnest this holiday season—strong performances in our fall drama production and winter concert, generosity to the Comet Leadership Council’s Holiday Food Drive to benefit the Redwood Empire Food Bank and Girls on the Run coat and blanket drive to support the Interfaith Shelter Network and Family Support Center, as well as our families’ support of the Volunteer Center of Santa Rosa’s Secret Santa program. These are just a few examples of the many ways we have been living out our guiding principle of contribution during this season of gratitude and giving.

As I reflect on all that SCDS has done for my children and family, I am reminded that we are just one of many who make up our school community, and that our story is not unique. We are all here because our SCDS community is truly something special, far beyond the education that our children receive as students here. I extend my heartfelt appreciation to each of you for your partnership in shaping and supporting our school to be the remarkable place of learning and contributing that it is.

Please, take this time to enjoy being in the company of your loved ones and cherish that time together. I offer my warmest wishes to your family for a wonderful holiday season and a very Happy New Year!
